This is Depressing

I was shopping this evening and browsing the magazines when I thought, "Jessica Simpson looks pretty and natural but not very magazine cover-y".  The May 2010 cover of Marie Claire features Jessica Simpson sans make-up and photo retouching. All I have to say is, if that is really the case, how depressing is that? That is a LOT to live up to in the natural beauty department!

Better get to the dermatologist and the hairdresser ASAP.

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - U.S. Movie Release

Stieg Larsson's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo film releases this month in the U.S. I will be attending at the theater on Friday. Can't wait to see Lisbeth Salander on screen!

Street Style Photos, International Plaza - Tampa, Florida

So I begin my street style photos for this blog regardless of the fact that I could only find one person worth photographing, at one of the most stylish spots in Tampa no less. This can probably be attributed to several factors: 1) We arrived at International Plaza at 10:00 a.m. on a Saturday 2) I was with my sister and 2 year-old niece and 3) Maybe there are not as many stylish people as I imagined?

I know what you're thinking. Most people, particularly the fashionable and fabulous, probably went out Friday night, so are hungover and not even awake at 10 in the morning, right? Apparently. If you have ever hung out with a 2 year old, however delightful, I don't need to explain the second reason.

Spring 2010 Trend: FLOWER POWER

For Spring 2010, this women's fashion trend is flirty and feminine. Floral scarves, handbags, shoes, jewelry and apparel are blooming everywhere!

Some things are better left in the 90's.

Remember those braided leather belts that used to come with shorts, jeans and pants in the early 1990's? The ones that in later years you just put in the back of your closet or threw away for their cheap tackiness?

Well, Lauren Conrad (of The Hills fame) wore one with a one-shoulder satin dress recently and I was unfortunately reminded. Her dress - lovely. The belt - what was she thinking?

Obsession: Vampire Chic

Since my obsession with the Twilight series began two years ago, I thought the slot was filled in my life for all things vampire. I was wrong. In the fall a new show premiered on the CW called Vampire Diaries, and I was instantly hooked. Two hot bloodsucking brothers that you can't choose between, beautiful people, mystery, romance and fashion all in one place.
